Technical Workshop at Smart Cities Connect Conference and Expo

Geoff Thomas an engineering graduate student from SSU was invited to co-teach a hands-on workshop about IoT technologies and its applications relevant to smart city projects. The workshop was led by Professor Shivakumar Mathapathi. In this paid workshop the participants learned critical considerations regarding the design and analysis of smart city projects. The workshop covered sensors, hardware platforms and existing cloud platforms. Geoff demonstrated various sensors related to the smart city projects, including Environmental Monitoring, e-Government, Waste Management, Flood Monitoring, Smart City Lights (LED), Smart Power Grid, Smart Parking, Smart Hospital and Smart Agriculture.
