Over the summer the engineering students at Sonoma State University officially registered the IEEE Student Branch. The purpose of this newly established Branch is to provide student members unique opportunities to meet and learn from fellow IEEE student and graduate student members. The branch is also instrumental in connecting students to the industry professionals and leaders who drive innovation in technical fields.
The current leadership team includes the branch officers Armando Santos-Landa, Alexander Sneed, and Rania Saba, and Dr. Nansong Wu, as its faculty advisor.
The branch is welcoming all students to join IEEE Student Branch. "Our goal is to create a more active environment through having more social and technical meetings, engaging the engineering students in exciting engineering projects and workshops, and promoting outreach programs, such as participating in IEEE conferences and competitions," noted Rania Saba, one of the officers of the branch.
