This semester the Engineering Department offered two online soldering workshops for freshmen and sophomore students. For this workshop individual students purchased their own Practice Soldering Kit with Soldering Iron.

The workshops were offered as part of the ongoing skill-building and enrichment workshops program offered by the program. Many thanks to Shahram Marivani for conducting and guiding the students throughout the workshop to complete building their soldering kit. For most participating students this was the first time they actually used a soldering iron!

"Although few students participated in each section, we will continue offering such hands-on workshops to make sure our students are engaged and active," pointed out Marivani.

"The soldering workshop is yet another example that the EE program at Sonoma State University continues its long tradition of focusing on hands-on activities, whether we are online or face-to-face," said Farahmand, the Chair of the Department.
