Like many students across the country who've been displaced from college campuses because of the coronavirus pandemic, our engineering students had to quickly adapt, master Zoom and get ready for their final Senior Design Project virtual presentations on May 1st.

Yet, despite of all the challenges, maneuvering over the Zoom, handing over the screen's control from one presenter to another, planning to deal with potential Zoombombers, practicing their virtual demonstration and much more, this year eleven engineering students flawlessly showcased their senior design projects virtually. The teams were able to present a brief video of their projects.

Similar to previous years, this year's projects, some of which started as early as August, were all fully funded by various sources. Each project supported by an industry advisor and/or a client (see complete list of senior design projects at Senior Projects page). About ninety students, faculty, community members and industry representatives participated in this virtual event.

"The students did an amazing job and the overall event was very professional. The presentation material quality, engineering designs and remote presentations were excellent. I was deeply impressed with their ability to continue their studies and complete their senior design projects in this new learning environment due to the new social distancing restrictions", noted Dr. Loren Betts, R&D Manager, Keysight Technologies.

"I was impressed by the students' ability to adapt to the circumstances imposed by the current shelter in place orders. The senior design project is a hectic and difficult time without a global pandemic and the students were able to pivot and execute brilliantly. I commend them and the faculty in the Engineering department for a job well done", expressed Casey White, Engineering Project Manager, VIAVI Solutions.
