Sonoma State University Engineering students presented at GHTC 2018 Poster Competition in San Jose, California! In this event Alyssa Wright, Priyanka Khera and McKenzie Maher, presented their work, entitled "Body Vitals Transmitted Through Low-Cost Cellular Network". This project has been supported by SSU industry advisor, Mr. Rob Rowlands from Gap Wireless. In addition, Logan Lawrence presented his team’s ongoing research, entitled "A Low-Cost Diabetic Retinopathy Detection Solution Using Machine Learning". This project is through the Intelligent Systems Laboratory in the Engineering Department directed by Dr. Sudhir Shrestha.
IEEE Global Humanitarian Technology Conference is an international flagship conference on the application of technology to meet the needs of underserved populations around the world and in support of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). An important focus of the conference is on community building. Humanitarian Technology/Engineering involves the application of technology to improve the quality of life of the underserved populations, and to meet the challenges of both natural and man-made disasters.
