Congratulations to our engineering student Jordan Johnston for being selected to represent Sonoma State University at the 8th IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability (SusTech 2021). This annual conference brings together scientists, engineers, technologists, and scholars from multiple disciplines to hold a dialogue on environmental issues and collaborate on ideas to develop and utilize innovative tools and intelligent systems to address them. Jordan will present the topic of "Camera-Based Automatic Wildfire Detection and Monitoring Systems". A presentation schedule and abstracts are available from SusTech 2021 Student Poster Competition Contestants.

Updated on April 25, 2021: The poster and presentation won the "1st Place" award and $1000 in the competition. This research work was conducted under Dr. Nansong Wu’s supervision in EE 498, Engineering Practicum.
