Home brewing has become one of the largest hobbies in the United States with an estimated 1.1 million brewers that produced more than 1.4 million barrels of beer in 2017. Our temperature tool looks to solve the problem of brewing efficient and consistent beer during the boil and mash phase by controlling the temperature path for every desired recipe. By solving the efficiency and consistency of each brew, home brewers are guaranteed the same end product every time. Our color tool helps to verify the accuracy of each brew by calculating the Standard Reference Method (SRM) value of the desired beer. SRM is a standard method and unit of measurement used by the U.S. brewing industry to determine the yellowness for beer. Both tools will seamlessly connect to a base station from each tool will be controlled from the graphical user interface (GUI). The base station is also used for the management and storage of data. These three tools will allow Stone Cold Automated Home Brewing to build the basis for a fully automated homebrew system that can be expanded in the future.
