What is the most uncontrollable obstacle for a Sonoma State student getting to school? Some might say traffic on their route to school, but in this day and age there are many iPhone or Android applications that allow a student to check traffic and plan accordingly. Sonoma State is known to have no parking spots available during certain peak hours of the day and as the student body keeps growing, this problem will only get worse. Is it possible to create an easy way, such as a phone application, to check what parking lots have the most available parking spots, just as you would with traffic? Our goal for this research project was to create a system that is easily used by students and faculty of Sonoma State University to be able to plan ahead of time where they should park. This way, students and faculty can spend the time saved from not driving around campus, working hard in the classroom.
