The Purpose of this project is to design an ultrasonic mobility aid that can detect obstacles for the blind. Eye Guide has three forward facing sensors that send an ultrasonic pulse, listens to the returned pulse and calculates the distance using an Arduino microcontroller. The microcontroller transmits the calculated distances wirelessly, through a Bluetooth module, to a smartphone’s phone application. The phone application interprets the distances to give appropriate verbal warnings to the end user as needed to avoid obstacles.
