Electrical Engineering students receive Koret Scholars awards to work on wearable sensors, robotics and RADAR sensing. Logan Lawrence is developing a wearable smart sensor for passive health monitoring using chemical sensors and breath volatile organic compounds. Blake Zuniga, Daniel Gil and Austin Salois are testing FMCW RADAR for remote vital sign detection. Gaven Hayden-Town’s project aims to develop a gesture controlled robotic arm for assistive technology applications. The Koret scholars work from Engineering’s Intelligent Systems Lab.
