The Engineering students at Sonoma State University participated in the 2016 North Bay Science Discovery Day on October 29th at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds.
Electrical Engineering students Cristin Faria and Shelby Liddecoet participated in leading the Create-An-App Workshop on Friday, November 18, 2016, along with Computer Science students Brooke Borges, Dana Conard, and Hanani Ikeh.
The Department of Engineering Science hosted its first ever Engineering Professional Day on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
On April 20th, 2017 the engineering students and faculty participated in the Investiture Mini Conference. Three teams of engineering students presented their biomedical related projects, including the Smart Cane, SpecDetect, Seizure Detection projects.
This year nine teams of engineering students showcased their senior design projects.
Every Spring the Electrical Engineering students enrolled in Introduction to Microcontroller System course (EE 310) present their final projects in Salazar Hall. This year the students exhibited very unique and interesting projects ranging from Smart Bike to Electronic Jackpot.

Two engineering students from Sonoma State University were invited to the Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) to present their project at the 2017 GCTC Expo!
As more than a dozen wildfires burned through large swaths of land in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake, and Yuba counties, many of SSU engineering students have been doing their part to help their communities. Among them, EE graduate student Mohammed Ibrahim is definitely noteworthy.
